We have some good news and some bad news. Bad news first!
Comedy Fiends has reached a turning point.
Back in 2013, we embarked on a journey no one ever knew would last this long. Our first short ever was Bro Night! and it was weird, but it gave birth to a comedic brand that would deliver hilarious content to the masses. Take in the strangeness below:
In 2014, we ventured onto the stage and produced Stuck on a Truck: A Hooch Crixby Mystery that was met with lukewarm reviews, especially by audience members over the age of 75. Probably because they were all dead.
After Cody left to cultivate his talents in other areas of comedy, Billy stepped in and brought some of the most bizarre humor I've ever seen. Acting in the very first 10 Second Mysteries was his first contribution. He insisted he actually make himself vomit in the toilet by eating baking soda and then drinking vinegar. After that failed miserably we switched up our approach to simply having Billy launch oatmeal, flour, and half & half from his mouth into the toilet. He was sick for a day after that. Now that's comedy, baby.
In 2015, the narrative genius Pedro came on board and helped us write and produce Space Crew...in space! and The Spooking Hour with Vincent Price 2.0. I truly believe that one of Pedro's greatest moments was having an erection in Beef Jerky Pocket Square. Thank god for that phallic sweet potato we bought at the grocery store. Really worked out for us in the end. It especially worked out for my tummy, because I ate it with a chicken breast that evening.
And now 2017 is upon us. We just completed Street Jeans and are fully satisfied with the product we've created, but we know deep down that releasing content monthly for an online audience isn't sustainable. The content machine has been going for 3 years and 4 months and we're left with 2 hours of strange video content that will likely haunt our children and grandchildren for years. It's been a helluva a time, but we're ready to move on to a new adventure.
This is where the good news starts.
Moving forward Comedy Fiends will focus on producing long-form content like short films, series or, potentially, feature films. We already have a short film written and intend to shoot it sometime this year if things line up. This has always been part of the plan, but we never knew when we'd make the move to do it. Now is the time. Sure, we may release an original sketch here and there on our social media if inspiration hits us, but expect us to be quiet in the coming months.
If you want to stay in the loop about the status of our bigger upcoming projects, you can sign up for our newsletter below. We have been awful at sending out updates, but with this new chapter on the horizon, this gives us a reason to keep you updated.
Thanks for watching and laughing over the years. Hope you stay with us.
'Til next time.
